The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain tomorrow (Monday) as this year's wet summer continues. Forecasters are warning of outbreaks of torrential downpours and the likelihood of some localised flooding.

The warning runs from 8am until midnight on Monday covers parts of north west England, the whole of Wales, the West Midlands and the south west.

Up to 20mm of rain could fall in less than an hour in the affected areas, while thunder and lightning is also expected. Some torrential downpours are likely in places with 15 to 20mm falling in less than an hour and as much as 30 to 40mm in three hours. "This is likely to lead to localised flooding, slower travel times and a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded.
