Temperatures are set to top 32c in the UK on Tuesday as a 'mini-heatwave' continues. After weeks of rain, much of the country has been bathed in glorious sunshine for the past few days.

And the good news is that it will continue to get warmer for a few days yet - before cooling down slightly over the weekend, according to forecasters.

The Met Office said a warm snap is considered a heatwave if a location records at least three consecutive days with maximum temperatures exceeding a designated value.

This temperature is 25C for most of the UK and 28C in London and its surrounding area, where temperatures are typically higher.
