With autumn only a few weeks away, many Brits are hoping for another warm spell to sweep the country. Summer got off to a slow start this year with chilly temperatures and gloomy conditions.
But temperatures finally reached expectations over the past month, while the country has seen hot conditions on a number of occasions.
With the second half of August approaching, there are hopes that summer will end with another spell of warm weather. A band of cloud and rain is sweeping the country today (August 15), with temperatures around average for the time of year, according to the Met Office.
Southern and eastern areas will see the warmest weather in the next few days, with London enjoying highs of 26C on Friday, compared to 21C in Manchester and 19C in Edinburgh.
