The Met Office has given the verdict on Scotland's weather over the course of the next few days, as parts of the UK are blasted by heatwave temperatures.Weather maps are predicted to turn red in the coming days as a surge of intense heat is expected to push temperatures close to 30C down in the south of the UK.This weekend, the mercury could rise to a scorching 28C as a wave of heat sweeps across the English Channel from Spain.

Weather maps indicate that a lot of Brits can anticipate late summer heatwaves on Saturday, September 7, with the peak temperatures expected around midday.The Scottish Highlands could see temperatures of up to 22C heading into Friday, September 6 and Saturday, September 7, with Glasgow predicted to have highs of 23C.

However, the Met Office has warned with the warmer conditions, brings unpredictable forecasts due to a jet stream of weather today (Tuesday, September 3), and into Wednesday.Forecasters predict heavy rainfall on Tuesday, September 3, with widespread showers expected to deliver 30 to 40mm of rain in an hour.
