The Met Office has urged people to 'be prepared' amid a storm warning for much of the UK - but Greater Manchester looks set to avoid the worst of the stormy weather.
The yellow thunderstorm warning, which comes after a spell of hot and dry weather, came into force at 1am today (Thursday) and will last until just before midnight.
It covers all of our region, as well as much of England and Wales. The Met Office said that while the warning is in place, 'multiple rounds of heavy showers and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption'.
