The UK faces another "bitterly cold night" as heavy snow continues to impact some areas, according to the Met Office. The weather agency says wintry conditions will continue for another 24 hours before more mild air arrives at the weekend.
Overnight snowfall has left many areas facing travel disruption on Thursday. On Wednesday night, the lowest temperatures so far this winter were recorded in England, Wales and Northern.
England saw a low temperature of -11.2C, while Wales recorded a low of -7.9C and Northern Ireland recorded -7.2C. Today, snow showers are expected to continue across northern Scotland with a yellow warning for snow and ice in place until 10am on Friday morning.
The Met Office warned that Thursday night is going to be "another bitterly cold night, with a widespread hard frost expected across the UK".
