A Met Office weather map has revealed how a blast of cold Arctic air will sweep over the UK sending temperatures plummeting to -7C in some areas.
Conditions are expected to turn much colder at the beginning of next week (Monday, December 2) across much of the UK after a mild weekend, forecasters said.
Despite balmy highs of 16C on Sunday (December 1) it is forecast to reach -7c in parts of Scotland on Monday night, with a chilly and frosty start for many in other areas. The Met Office said in a post on X: "It will be turning colder into the new week with temperatures returning close to average.
