Weather forecasters have shared the exact date the heatwave will end, with this week's warmth and sunshine set to give way to an unsettled period.Highs of 22.5C were recorded at St James Park in London on Thursday (May 20) afternoon, but temperatures are now expected to cool considerably over the weekend and beyond.The mercury could even drop as low as 9C on Friday (June 20), with colder conditions expected in all parts of the UK.The Met Office's outlook for Friday reads: "Rain across southeast England clearing by early afternoon. UK is braced to enjoy its hottest day of the year as the mercury jumps once again within hours, weather forecasters have claimed.Temperatures could reach highs of 27C in London and 24C in the north of England later today (May 17), according to the Met Office, easily beating 2022's current record of 23.6C recorded in Faversham, Kent on May 6.But the national forecaster also warned that the same weather front would also bring widespread rain in the evening, with these even turning to storms in some areas.Met Office forecaster Richard Miles told the Daily Mirror: "Today will be dry, fine and warm, particularly in the south east which will be very warm, but in the coming week it will be sunny spells and heavy showers."Everyone will see a shower.
