The Met Office has issued its most accurate forecast yet for the bank holiday as conditions in Scotland may turn dry and warmer after what will be an unsettled week.
The four-day weekend is almost in sight and millions are looking to the weather forecast in hope of some sunshine for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.This week will start off with a mixture of rain and sunshine in some places - and even some hail and thunder at times, according to forecasters.
Although it's a cool and unsettled start to the week, the Met Office says things should gradually turn drier, brighter and a little warmer through the Jubilee weekend which kicks off on Thursday.
The Met Office says it still may be too early to tell the exact weather conditions for the bank holiday, with the path of a plume of warm air from over the near continent the focus of much of the uncertainty.Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Chris Bulmer said: "There’s still a lot to be determined for the Jubilee Weekend forecast.
