A member of an alleged Encrochat gang was found with cocaine under the spare wheel of his Porsche, a trial has heard. The Manchester-based group are said to be of the 'highest level of criminal firearm trafficking ever encountered by law enforcement in the UK', prosecutors allege.
It is alleged that they were involved in the supply of class A and B drugs and firearms across the country. Prosecutors have said that members planned to set up an importation route into the UK to 'expand their business'.
The group's alleged crimes are said by prosecutors to have been carried out between January and June 2020. Reading a number of agreed facts to the jury, prosecutor Neil Fryman outlined the dates in which the different usernames were in use, varying from January to June 2020.
