Ahead of King Charles' Coronation last year, there was much speculation about whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be among the 2,200 attendees at the Westminster Abbey event.
For months leading up to the coronation, royal experts, sources and even Oprah Winfrey publicly debated whether we'd see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex take their seat with the rest of the royals at the momentous occasion.As we all know now, Harry ended up travelling alone from LA back to the UK for a whistle-stop trip to see his father crowned, before he headed back to be with his family as son Prince Archie celebrated his fourth birthday on the same date as the coronation.
We previously reported that Meghan was "never likely" to attend Charles' Coronation after being put in an "impossible position".
Prince Harry would attend the historic event while Meghan stayed in America with Archie and Princess Lilibet. Palace insiders told The Mirror that Harry spent weeks chatting to aides after signalling his intention to travel to the UK.
