In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry told to drive 'beaten-up mini-van' to fool photographers

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should switch to a "beaten-up mini-van" if they want to flee the paparazzi, a veteran Los Angeles photographer has said.

Mark Karloff, who has been snapping celebs for 12 years, says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already changed their car to evade snappers.

It comes after Harry branded the press a "powerful force" before their remarkable decision to step down as senior royals and move to California with baby Archie.

But Karloff said that if they really want to avoid the paparazzi, they should consider downgrading to a low-end vehicle. Karloff, who hosts the Paparazzi Podcast, told Daily Star Online: "A beaten-up mini-van is the way to go because no one looks at that.
