Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, will be celebrating their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday on the same day The Queen, 95, is set to be enjoying a four-day bank holiday for her Platinum Jubilee.

Plans have been in place for Her Majesty’s festivities for years now, as she gears up to reach the grand milestone of 70 years on the throne – longer than any monarch before her.

But no one could have predicted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were recently advised to avoid Prince Philip's memorial as the day "isn't about them", would also welcome their second child and first daughter one year earlier.

While baby Lilibet will have her first birthday just after the Queen’s actual coronation anniversary, on June 4, the whole of Britain is gearing up for a long weekend of celebrating.
