Mean Girls hit cinema screens in 2004 with Lindsay Lohan, leading a star-studded cast as outsider Cady Heron, who was raised in Africa and arrives at an American high school where she has to navigate the world of The Plastics.
She's forced to deal with ringleader Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams, and her sidekicks Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert) and Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried), all while trying to win the affection of Aaron Samuels (Jonathan Bennett).
Now, 20 years later, Mean Girls is making its debut as a musical on London's West End.The production will come to the UK in 2024 and has already been a hit on Broadway where it opened in 2018 before embarking on two national tours.
News of the West End opening was announced on October 3, also known as Mean Girls Day, in reference to a scene from the cult film when Cady is asked what day it is by the boy she likes.
