Maurizio Sarri has admitted he had a “confrontational relationship” with the Chelsea dressing room early on in his turbulent stint at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian picked up his first trophy as a manager in charge of Chelsea, guiding them to Europa League success in the 2018/19 campaign before departing for Juventus.
He also reached the Carabao Cup final last season, only to suffer a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Premier League champions Manchester City.
Despite lifting his first piece of silverware, it proved a miserable year at times for Sarri, who Blues fans were desperate to see the back of after humiliating 6-0 and 4-0 league thrashings against City and Bournemouth respectively.
