Matty Kennedy knows the perfect way to get disgruntled Aberdeen fans back on side – beat Rangers on Tuesday night. The third-placed Dons took some stinging criticism for their negative approach to Saturday’s home clash with Celtic.
Kennedy understands why some fans were frustrated after the late 1-0 defeat,But he is well aware that if they could get a result against bitter-rivals Rangers, the Celtic game will soon be forgotten.
He admitted: “That is part and parcel of being a footballer. If you get beat you are down in the dumps and people think you are the worst footballers in the world and if we were to win 1-0 on Tuesday night we would be unbelievable.
If we were to win, everything would be positive and they’d realise what a good season we are having.”Dons boss Jim Goodwin held up his hands and accepted the blame as elements of their own support booed the team at the end of the Celtic game.
