New Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt will wear the number four shirt after signing for an initial £38.4million on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old will continue with the squad number after holding the honour since his time at Ajax in 2017/18. De Ligt completed his move to Old Trafford after facing speculation over his future at Bayern Munich but featured as part of a double swoop from the German giants after Noussair Mazraoui penned a five-year deal with the option for a further year.
De Ligt replaces Sofyan Amrabat as the holder of the four shirt following the Moroccan's short-term loan at the Theatre of Dreams last term.
He will follow in the footsteps of iconic defenders Nemanja Vidic, Gary Pallister and Steve Bruce.
