Matthew Wright compares Darius' tragic death to Boyzone's Stephen Gately's passing

This Morning on Wednesday (August 17) to pay tribute to Pop Idol star Darius Campbell Danesh who tragically passed away last week aged 41.While on the ITV daytime show, Matthew paid tribute while comparing Darius' tragic death to that of Stephen Gately from Boyzone, who passed away suddenly in 2009.READ NEXT: Darius Campbell Danesh's ex-wife shares sad tribute following Pop Idol star's death Andi Peters, who was co-hosting with Rochelle Humes, welcomed Matthew onto the show when he explained that it was "a really sad day".The GMB competition presenter then explained how Matthew was a showbiz writer and had interviewed Darius on a regular basis."He was a regular on the show for years, and I said on Twitter yesterday, not everybody you meet in showbiz is a gentle soul, but he was and I used to look forward to seeing him."What you saw was what you got, he was exactly the same off camera as he was away."He then added: "I've already seen all the speculation, all of the 'what may have happened' and I'd like to assume, for the benefit of his family that he may have gone like Stephen Gately, god rest his soul, which was sudden adult death syndrome."Matthew then explained how several people in the UK die from this each year.When Stephen passed in 2009, a post-mortem revealed that he had died of sudden arrhythmia death syndrome, also known as sudden adult death syndrome, which was caused by an undiagnosed heart condition.Matthew then went on to say that obviously "we don't know" how Darius died as of yet, but explained how he "hopes" it was as a result of sudden adult death syndrome because his life was "going very well for him".Darius, who lived in America, was found dead in his US apartment on August 11 aged 41.Police have.
