Cocaine with an estimated street value of £3.2million was seized by police today after a raid in Greater Manchester. Two men - both suspected of being members of an organised crime group (OCG) - were arrested in Prestwich, Bury, and remained in police custody for questioning on Monday, Greater Manchester Police said.
The drugs, which police said have an estimated wholesale value of £3.2m, were found within the premises. Senior detectives hailed a 'huge haul' and said the drugs seized would 'undoubtedly' have gone on to be sold on the streets of Greater Manchester.
The force released a photograph showing packaged blocks of cocaine in what appears to be a sports bag. The men were held on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs.
They haven't been named. In a statement, GMP said: "Two members of a suspected organised crime group have been arrested this morning as police executed a warrant in Prestwich and discovered 70kg of cocaine. "The class A drugs, which have an estimated wholesale value of £3.2 million, were recovered from within the address.
