Masked men trapped a cyclist on a footbridge and held a knife to his neck in a terrifying attack. The two men, wearing ski masks, latex gloves and black clothing, blocked the victim in and pulled a knife on him, causing cuts to his neck.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and those with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward following the attempted robbery near Robert Street in Northwich.
At around 10.23pm on Sunday (August 18) police were called to reports of a robbery. The caller reported that he had been cycling on the pedestrian footbridge over Hunts Lock when an unknown man stepped out in front of him, blocking his path. The first man proceeded to pull out a knife and held it at the victim's neck, causing two superficial cuts, and asked him to empty his pockets.
