Martin Lewis' warning as 60,000 incorrect letters sent over winter fuel payments

Naomi Schraer, a reporter for the Money Saving Expert website, said: "Its admission comes after we were contacted by several people whose letters either listed the wrong bank details or inaccurate entitlement information."Winter fuel payments are incredibly helpful to a lot of people who will normally be paid between £100 and £300 depending on their circumstances.The money will normally be sent between November and December and is available to people aged 66 and above as of October 5 this year (2020) who have lived in the UK for at least one day between September 21-27 this year.The DWP has now reportedly said the payments will still be made to the correct accounts despite the mistake.However, the MoneySavingExpert says it has.
