Martin Lewis explained a lesser-known method people could have saved on council tax bills when they live with someone with a "severe mental impairment".

The Money Saving Expert said there are two big categories where people don't have to pay or pay with a 25% discount of council tax, but people don't know much about the "severe mental impaired" category.

If the occupant is a full-time student, they can be opt out of the council tax; or get one-fourth discount if they are living on their own.
