Married At First Sight star Mel Schilling makes it home for Christmas after bowel cancer surgery

Married at First Sight star Mel Schilling has shared an exciting piece of news with her fans after the star revealed she was able to go home and spend Christmas with her family after undergoing successful bowel cancer surgery.

The 51 year old star, who is best known for providing relationship advice on the E4 dating show, had initially thought she would have to spend the day as an inpatient in Kingston Hospital, South West London.

However, Mel revealed on Christmas Eve that this wasn’t the case as she took to Instagram to share the news that she, her husband Gareth and eight year old daughter Madison, who had all donned Christmas jumpers for the occasions, would actually be driving home for the holidays instead.

The return to normality will no doubt be a welcome change for Australian Mel following her harrowing cancer ordeal in the past few weeks.The star was recently diagnosed with colon cancer, something which was detected on a scan after she had complained to her GP about stomach cramps.
