Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.

A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.

He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.

Marcus Rashford hits back at Therese Coffey for blunt response to his school meals plea

Marcus Rashford has hit back at the Tory Work and Pensions Secretary after she replied to his free school meals campaign with a "flippant" tweet.

The 22-year-old Manchester United footballer renewed calls today for the government to continue free meal vouchers over the summer holidays.

In a plea to MPs he tweeted: "When you wake up this morning and run your shower, take a second to think about parents who have had their water turned off during lockdown".

But Therese Coffey replied: "Water cannot be disconnected though." The blunt reply caused outrage on Twitter where it was branded detached and heartless.
