Students across the UK are being urged to receive a free meningitis jab in the rush up to the start of the next school year.
It comes after data from the UKHSA signified a drop in vaccination rates in some areas of the country. The primary sharp fall was reported among 13 to 14 year old in the 2021/22 academic year.
Across England, the vaccination rate for this year 9 group was at 69.2 per cent, a drop down of seven per cent on the previous year.
While most local authorities offer the vaccination to Year 9 students, around a third of local authorities also vaccinate pupils in Year 10.
