Manuel Ugarte is showing Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag he is fit enough to make his Premier League debut away at Southampton after the international break.
Ugarte, 23, started for Uruguay in their home World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on Friday night, playing the best part of 80 minutes before being substituted.
It was the defensive midfielder's first match since starting for his country in the Copa America third-place play-off versus Canada in mid-July.
During the two months without playing, Ugarte spent some time on holiday after the tournament in the United States before returning for pre-season training with his then-club Paris Saint-Germain.
