Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer. According to The Sun, via Four Four Two, reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid are deciding to prioritise signing Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season.
If Real were to pull out of the race entirely, The Sun believes that United would be in the best position to sign the striker due to their 'grandeur and financial muscle', over the likes of Man City.
Manchester Evening News understands that the Red Devils themselves are not currently in the running for the Norwegian goalscorer.
Elsewhere, it has been reported that Leicester City opted against signing Manchester United defender Phil Jones in January. The Foxes were apparently looking for a centre half during the winter window but Brendan Rodgers opted against signing Jones.
