The Dane, who scored twice against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek, went down with a little over 10 minutes of normal time remaining.
He was then withdrawn by manager Erik ten Hag and immediately headed straight down the tunnel following consultation with the Dutchman and United's medical staff.
As Hojlund, who joined the club from Italian outfit Atalanta for an initial £64million in the summer transfer window, headed for the tunnel, he was holding his right hamstring.
