Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag branded Marcus Rashford "unacceptable" for attending a birthday party hours after the derby defeat and the forward has apologised.

Rashford attended a gathering at the Chinawhite nightclub on Deansgate on Sunday evening after United were humbled 3-0 at Old Trafford by Manchester City.

The event was attended by Rashford's brother, Dane, close friends and teammate Tyrell Malacia. Although Rashford, who turned 26 on Tuesday, was not photographed it was established he was in attendance.

Rashford's entourage arranged for his vehicle to pull up as close to the entrance as possible so Rashford would not be pictured.
