Goals from Steven Bergwijn, former United attacker Memphis Depay (2) and Denzel Dumfries settled the scores in Brussels and the Netherlands - with Timber part of the defensive unit alongside Virgil van Dijk and Manchester City player Nathan Ake - were rock solid until breached three minutes into added time.
By that point the game was up. United have identified Timber as one priority target this summer as Erik ten Hag sets about a much-needed rebuild.
