Manchester United are considering a swoop for Galatasaray star Mauro Icardi when the transfer market reopens, according to reports, but are braced for competition to secure his signature.
United spent £183million this summer including a substantial outlay on Rasmus Hojlund. However, the Denmark striker has yet to open his account in the Premier League.
The club are, meanwhile, considering their options for further additions in attacking quarters and Anthony Martial could also move on.
MEN Sport understands United are open to receiving offers for Martial and up to four other players - including Raphael Varane and Casemiro - during the January window.
