Manchester United striker Joe Hugill has joined Burton Albion on loan for the rest of the season and could make his Football League debut in front of the TV cameras on Monday night.
The 20-year-old signed a new contract with United on Wednesday, one that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2026, and has joined the Brewers in time for their League One trip to Derby County on Monday night.
He is one of the first signings for new boss Martin Paterson, who was appointed at the Pirelli Stadium earlier this week. A loan deal was agreed last week but Hugill remained at Carrington to train with United due to a shortage of fit forwards.
He was on the bench for the FA Cup win at Wigan on Monday night but didn't come on. That was the fourth time Hugill has been named on the bench this season but he is yet to make his debut for the club and will now gain first team experience elsewhere.
