Grealish, 25, declined a new contract offer from Villa to make the switch to the Etihad, where he signs a five year deal until 2026.
The England international had been made a transfer priority for City, who will pay a club record £100m to Villa for his services.
That fee is significantly higher than the £63m paid for Ruben Dias last summer, and also higher than the previous British record of £89m paid by Manchester United for Paul Pogba.
