Manchester bomb squad scramble to mystery item found under car

Manchester Evening News reports.Footage from the scene shows a Royal Logistics Corps bomb disposal unit stationed in the middle of the street.Eyewitnesses reported a 100m cordon being put in place from Arkwright Street, stretching across a number of roads.Photos showed the police cordon in place on Arkwright Street between Lansdowne Road and Featherstall Road South.Local reports also suggested all businesses in the area have been evacuated and Arkwright Street Household Waste Recycling Centre was also closed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 1.30pm today (Thursday, February 4, 2020), police were called to Arkwright Street in Chadderton to reports that a suspicious item had been found underneath a car."EOD.
