Paul Scholes has joined Gary Neville in claiming Manchester United’s central defenders are not good enough to win a Premier League title.
Neville has long advocated for the signing of another centre-back to partner captain Harry Maguire. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided against that in both the summer and January, instead sticking with the players currently at his disposal.
Victor Lindelof started in the heart of defence against Everton, where their deficiencies at the back were clear to see again.
Solskjaer’s side conceded three times to the Toffees, including a last gasp equaliser in the thrilling six goal draw at Old Trafford.
