A man has been jailed after a loaded gun was found in a stolen car following a high-speed police chase. Forensic evidence linked Tyler McLaughlin to the weapon and a glove found in the black Audi A5.

It came after officers from GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit began pursuing the car during a routine patrol in Northenden in the early hours of the morning on March 8, 2020.

The Audi sped off along Palatine Road when the driver appeared to startle after recognising police in the unmarked cop car.
