Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the Red Devils should "move heaven and earth" to try and sign either Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
Ferdinand also believes United "definitely need to buy a centre-back" if they are to compete for the Premier League title next season.United currently sit second in the league table but they are 12 points behind rivals Manchester City.
Speaking on Vibe With FIVE, Ferdinand explained that United are "in a better position than they were last season" but there is still "room for improvement".
He said: "Manchester United were playing catch up from everybody last season."They finished 30 points behind Liverpool last season, now they're above them.
