Manchester United have confirmed they are co-operating with the police over an alleged incident of racist and physical abuse at Old Trafford last month.
The investigation surrounds a worker for an outside catering agency, who was trying to gain access to the stadium on February 27.
United were playing Club Brugge that evening in the Europa League , with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team going on to win 5-0. Prior to the European tie kicking off, though, it is alleged security staff racially abused and assaulted an individual who was at Old Trafford for work purposes.
A police statement reads: “Greater Manchester Police continue to investigate a report of racially aggravated public order and alleged assault on Sir Matt Busby Way, Manchester. “S
