Manchester United have made a formal offer to Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendez, according to reports from Portugal. It is claimed that the Red Devils are keeping an eye on the Juventus forward's situation, amid reports the Serie A club want to reduce their wage bill.
And United have allegedly put the feelers out, with Portuguese publication Record, via SportWitness, claiming Ronaldo is mulling over the offer but remains focused on Juve.
Ronaldo is Juventus' best-paid player earning a staggering £28million a season. It seems plausible that the Italian champions would want the 35-year-old off their wage bill, and that United would be keen to bring him home, but the transfer appears unlikely.
