Manchester United have released a statement promising bans following the events of the fan protests over the weekend in their clash against Liverpool.In the statement, United rebuffed the claims that fans were allowed into the stadium via a club official opening a gate, and have outlined the intention to prosecute those involved in criminal activity.Hundreds of protestors were able to enter Old Trafford before their Premier League fixture on Sunday as they protested the Glazer family, and their ownership of the football club.Whilst the majority of the protestors were peaceful - there were a couple of incidents such as flares and cameras being thrown, and one police officer was injured.
