Of the 12 clubs that originally agreed to compete in the tournament last month, nine withdrew within days amid widespread condemnation of the closed-shop concept, but Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid remain on board with the plans.

Uefa president Alexander Ceferin commended the nine clubs who reversed their decision in a statement on Friday, but said: "The same cannot be said for the clubs that remain involved in the so-called 'Super League' and UEFA will deal with those clubs subsequently." Juventu
