Manchester United chief Ed Woodward’s stance on giving Liverpool the Premier League title has emerged. The Red Devils have joined the 20 other teams in social distancing as coronavirus has postponed the league until April 30.
This has seen a strong debate on whether Liverpool, who sit 25 points clear at the top and two wins away from victory, should be awarded the title.
Some have been against this, including West Ham CEO Karren Brady. This has led to speculation on the Red Devils head honcho’s reaction, considering the title would go to their arch rivals.
But The Athletic reports that Woodward did not indicate he wanted Liverpool to be denied the title. The United chief was “very fair” and insisted the season should be finished.
