A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the city centre as thousands of people did their last-minute Christmas shopping.
Merseyside Police raced to Whitechapel, Liverpoolm at around 2.20pm on Saturday, December 23. Officers said they received reports of a man in his 20s having suffered a stab wound to his leg after being attacked by another male.
A police cordon was put in place as medics raced the man to hospital for treatment, reports the Liverpool Echo.His injury is not thought to be life-threatening.Officers remained at the scene this afternoon carrying out enquiries and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.Chief Inspector Tom Welch said: "We are in the very early stages of investigating this incident and would appeal to anyone with information to please come forward.
We are still trying to establish the circumstances of what happened."It would have been extremely busy at the time so, if you saw anything, please let us know as a matter of urgency.
