Man snatches elderly woman's bag in Sainsbury's and TK Maxx car park

An elderly woman fell to the floor as a man snatched her bag from her in a car park in Oldham. The attempt robbery happened in the car park of the TK Maxx and Sainsbury's on Union Street in broad daylight on Tuesday, November 28.

Police said the victim - a 79-year-old woman - was getting out of her car with her partner when the suspect grabbed her bag.

This caused her to fall to the ground. Two off-duty police officers who were in the area at the time 'apprehended the suspect', police added. Officers now want to speak to any witnesses of the incident - which happened at around 1.20pm. They also want to speak to anyone who has dash cam, CCTV or mobile footage.
