Ken Nolan, 63, was travelling back from Lisbon with his wife Nicola on Monday (August 21) when the pair stopped to use the airport's facilities.

Manchester Airport apologised and said toilets are inspected and cleaned throughout the day. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features. "We were quite shocked really, and so were other passengers we spoke to," he said. "There was toilet paper all over the floor, and the ladies lavatories were partially flooded with water all over the floor." Ken, who used to work in healthcare, said the 'disgraceful level of filth' left him concerned. "It raises the concerns of transmission of any kind of bacterial infection - it's unsanitary and potentially dangerous," he said.
