A man was rushed to hospital after being attacked at a supermarket. The 21-year-old was set upon outside an Asda superstore in Hamilton, Lanarkshire.

Officers from Police Scotland are now probing the Saturday evening attack, which left the man seriously injured. He was taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to his injuries.An investigation into the 7pm assault outside the Palace Grounds Road store is now underway, and an area outside the shop was cordoned off as officers tried to establish exactly what happened. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7pm on Saturday, 20 January, 2024, police were called to the Mote Hill and Palace Grounds Road area of Hamilton, following the report of the serious assault of a 21-year-old man."The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.” An Asda spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by the Daily Record.
