Man jailed after 'completely unprovoked attack on fellow bus passengers'

A man who hurled racist abuse at passengers on a bus in Manchester has been locked up. Darren Cuthbertson was travelling on a bus from London to Leeds when he started shouting the abuse, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The 47-year-old had been drinking alcohol during the journey. He was asked to mind his language but continued to hurl out the vile abuse.

Cuthbertson was asked to leave the bus in Manchester, but he carried on shouting as he got off. Cuthbertson later punched a wall while in the custody suite and caused damage to the cell door. He made no comment when interviewed by police, the CPS said.
