Man in court accused of manslaughter after man dies in fight outside nightclub

A man has appeared in court accused of the manslaughter of a man who died following a fight outside a nightclub. Joshua Hughes, 22, suffered a fatal head injury after falling to the ground during the incident outside Glow, in Lancaster city centre, on June 12 of last year.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 4.30am and Mr Hughes, from Morecambe, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The 32-year-old appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday). During the hearing, Orrell spoke only to confirm his identity and agree he understood the proceedings.
