Man tackles massive German Shepherd to ground after it mauls wife in CCTV footage
dailyrecord.co.ukThis is the moment a professional dogwalker wrestled an out-of-control German Shepherd to the ground after it attacked his own dog and bit his wife.Paul Jennings and his wife Sasithon were walking with their Beagle Cody when the massive dog broke free from its owner and lunged at them.
The dog bit Sasithon's leg as she jumped in front of Cody to protect him.CCTV footage, shared with the Mirror, shows Paul tackling the animal to the ground to get it under control before the owner manages to put the lead back on and walks off.
The couple, from Surbiton in London, phoned the police and were taken to A&E where Sasithon was treated for a bite in her calf.Police are investigating the incident - which happened near Kingston-Upon-Thames town centre on April 8 - and Paul says he's frustrated the owner still hasn't been tracked down, adding that he believes there should be a licence for owning such large breeds.
He said: "We don't think she should face criminal charges but people who have powerful dogs need to have some training or they should have some kind of licence. "To drive a car you need to have training or else you can easily kill people on the road, but with dogs, it seems to be a free for all when you've got a deadly animal with you."This lady had no harness with the dog, which is the bare minimum unless they are very well trained.
