A man is fighting for his life in a critical condition after becoming 'trapped' in a burning house in Wigan. Emergency services raced to the scene of the blaze on Dumbarton Green in Wigan at around 6am on Wednesday (August 14).
Crime scene investigators spent the day at the property conducting investigations into the cause of the fire. The victim, aged in his 40s, was pulled to safety and rushed to hospital.
He remains in a critical and life-threatening condition following the horror blaze. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, with police leading the investigation into its cause. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 6.40am this morning (Wednesday 14 August 2024), we were called to reports of a man trapped due to a fire at a property on Dumbarton Green, Wigan. "Enquiries regarding how the fire started are ongoing.
